TAARIQ’S MOM WEIGHS IN

Meanwhil Nawal Jaftha, mom to Nadia and Taariq has released her own statement, distancing herself from the controversy.

She said in a video posted to her Instagram account: “Taariq is my son and yes I don’t agree with what he has done. He was very blatant and rude and I hope that he will be guided and that his eyes will open to what he did.

“I feel that I have done the best as a mother in laying a solid foundation based on good morals, strong ethics and principles…Taariq has been outspoken, daring and impulsive and has given me many challenges. How they [Taariq and Nadia] choose to conduct themselves is on them.

“Taariq is now a father of four children and I can only hope that the foundation that I provided is enough for them to carry their journey”.
