You are His presence carrier: IT IS WRITTEN

The Lord’s presence is characterised by light, and light  brings order into chaos. His word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path!

I remember fondly the Sunday School song we sang as little kids: “This little light of mine, I’m gonna  let it shine”. We, the Bride of Christ, need to stand up and be counted. We have the absolute privilege of  carrying His light into this world of chaos and darkness. Wherever we go, we get to be “Presence  Carriers” if we live our lives for His glory.

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.”

Isaiah 60:1 (ESV)

To ARISE means “to be stirred up, to be awake and to prepare for action”. The Lord’s presence is characterised by light, and light  brings order into chaos. In Exodus (13:21), we see how the Lord led His people with the pillar of fire  by night. Light gives direction and guidance. Psalm 119:105 says that His word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path!

It is remarkable to consider that we are the Dwelling Place of Elohim – the living God!

“What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are  the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will  be their God, and they will be my people.”

2 Corinthians 6:16 (NIV)

We are God’s plan for the world. As you picture the globe from God’s vantage-point, can you  imagine if each of us were playing our part – shining His light in our little corner? The greater the darkness, the greater the opportunity for our light to shine!

HOW CAN WE BE REPRESENTATION OF HIS GLORY?

God has told us how:

14Do everything without grumbling or arguing, 15 so that you may become  blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you  will shine among them like stars in the sky16 as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be  able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labour in vain.”

Philippians 2:14-16 (NIV)

The key is LOVE (as described in 1 Corinthians 13). There are countless testimonies where it was the  love of Christ in and through His people that drew followers to Him. The love described in this passage is so foreign to the love we experience in the world. It is like salmon swimming upstream!

The bible says that this type of love never fails! When we allow the Spirit of God to work in our  hearts, humbling ourselves under His mighty hand and treating others with patience and kindness,  the world cannot help but be drawn to Christ in us, the hope of glory!

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not  proud. 5It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record  of wrongs.6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.7It always protects, always  trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.8Love never fails.”

1 Corinthians 13: 4-8 (NIV)

Mathew 5:15 says that we mustn’t hide our light under a bushel. We need to always be ready to  explain the hope that we have to anyone interested (1 Peter 3:15).

PRAYER

Father, thank you for sending your Holy Spirit to live within us, your people. Please help us to become more and more like Jesus every day.

Continue to give us special encounters with you, which change us from within we pray. We long to be carriers of your glory.

In Jesus name,

Amen
