WWE ThunderDome

This week the WWE has moved out of the Performance Centre and into the Amway Centre which the production team has converted into the Thunderdome.

“WWE has a long history of producing the greatest live spectacles in sports and entertainment, yet nothing compares to what we are creating with WWE ThunderDome,” said Kevin Dunn, WWE Executive Vice President, Television Production.

“This structure will enable us to deliver an immersive atmosphere and generate more excitement among the millions of fans watching our programming around the world.

”With the debut of WWE ThunderDome, WWE will take residency at Amway Centre in Orlando and virtually bring fans into the arena via live video on massive LED boards, in conjunction with The Famous Group and its proprietary technology, for every Monday Night Raw®, Friday Night SmackDown®and WWE pay-per-view event.

“As WWE takes residency at the world-class Amway Centre, we have reimagined our live event experience for today’s environment,” said Brian Flinn, WWE Chief Marketing & Communications Officer. “In partnership with The Famous Group, we will virtually bring our fans back into the show and recreate the interactive in-arena atmosphere that has been a staple of WWE events for decades.”

With the debut of WWE ThunderDome, SummerSlam will virtually bring fans into the arena via live video on massive LED boards. Fans can register for their virtual seat to be part of upcoming shows via www.WWEThunderDome.com or at WWE’s Facebook, Instagram or Twitter pages.

WWE Summerslam lineup

Summerslam will include eight matches, including the Raw Tag Team Championship, WWE Championship, United States Championship, Street Fight, Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championship, Universal Championship and Hair vs Hair match.

Drew McIntyre will defend his WWE Championship against Randy Orton, after the Viper declared he wanted a WWE Championship again at last month’s Raw.

Orton challenged McIntyre to a title match at SummerSlam, which the Champion accepted. The WWE’s Apex Predator is known for his signature RKO move, and if his defeat against the Edge at Backlash is anything to go by, it is without a doubt that The Chosen One might just have to bring out the big guns.

Fans can also look forward to a tag team match between The Street Profits and their opponents Andrade and Angel Garza along with Zelina Vega.

The WWE Universe saw Montez Ford collapse at the 3 August episode of Raw and it was revealed that he had been ‘poisoned’ by Zelina Vega.

The tag teams will battle it out for Raw Tag Team title, while MVP will take on Apollo Crews for his WWE United States Championship belt.

The Superstar hopes to show Crews that he is more than worthy of joining his crew. The United States Champion repeatedly declined MVP’s offer to become a part of his group, named The Hurt Business

The two later faced each other in a non-title match in June on Raw that the MVP won.

It was the following week where MVP revealed a new United States Championship belt and stated he would battle for the title at Extreme Rules. The match didn’t take place as Crews wasn’t able to join after failing his physical test resulting from injuries received following an attack from Bobby Lashley.

MVP declared himself the winner by forfeit and unofficially claimed the title for himself. It was on 3 August at Raw where Crews retained his title and MVP demanded a rematch at SummerSlam this weekend.

Other matches to look forward to include the Street Fight between the team of Dominik and Rey Mysterio and the nefarious Seth Rollins and Murphy.

WWE Universal champion Braun Strowman will go up against Bray Wyatt, while ladies Sasha Banks and Bayley will battle Asuka for the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championship titles.

The event will bring back the professional wrestling staple that is a Hair vs Hair match. Mandy Rose will go up against her former tag team partner, Sonya Deville after the two began a feud when Deville claimed that Rose was all looks and no talent, and later her attacked her on the 31 July episode of SmackDown cutting some of her hair off.
