As the days get cooler, you are probably spending more time indoors on the couch. If you’re on the hunt for some exciting movies to watch then you’ve come to the right place! From Daniel Craig’s final film as James Bond to some of the biggest blockbusters in the world, here are 12 international movies to watch on Showmax this month.

1. ‘NO TIME TO DIE’

No Time to Die is the 25th film in the James Bond series and sees Daniel Craig bowing out of his role as the British MI6 agent. The film was the fourth-biggest box office film of 2021 and won an Oscar for Billie Eilish’s theme song of the same name.

2. ‘THE CARD COUNTER’

Written and directed by Oscar nominee Paul Schrader, The Card Counter tells the story of an ex-military interrogator turned gambler who is haunted by the ghosts of his past. The film features a star-studded cast including Tiffany Hadish, Oscar Isaac and Willem Dafoe. 

The Card Counter was executive produced by Oscar-winning director Marin Scorsese.

3. ‘ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE’

Zack Snyder’s Justice League is the follow-up to Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. While he was the original director of Justice League, Snyder handed over the reigns to Joss Whedon after the death of his daughter. 

Zack Snyder’s Justice League was hailed as one of the 10 best films of 2021 and was praised as a “superhero movie with a difference”.

4. ‘A QUIET PLACE PART II’

A Quiet Place Part II is the sequel to the 2018 Oscar-nominated post-apocalyptic horror film about the Abbott family, who is forced to venture into the world of the unknown. The film won the Best Horror Award at the 2022 Critics Choice Super Awards and actors Cillian Murphey and Millicent Simmonds were nominated for Best Actor and Best Actress. 

The film hits Showmax on 14 July.

5. ‘GODZILLA VS KONG’

With an impressive cast and stellar visual effects, Godzilla vs Kong was the eighth-biggest blockbuster of 2021. The film has been described as “a clash of the titans that is spectacular in every sense of the word”. 

Stranger Things star Millie Boby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry and SAFTA-winning actor Hakeen Kae-Kazim all-star in the film.

6. ‘THE CONJURING 3: THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT’

In the third film from the second-highest-grossing horror franchise film of all time, talented actors Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson return as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. 

In The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It, the Warrens investigate a murder that may be linked to a demonic possession. 

The film hits Showmax on 28 July.

7. THE PROTÉGÉ

Directed by BAFTA-winning Martin Campbell, The Protégé follows Anna (played by Maggie Q), a skilled contract killer who was rescued as a child by the legendary assain Moody (Samuel L Jackson). When Moody is brutally killed, Anna sets out to avenge the man who taught her everything she knows, but a cat-and-mouse chase with an enigmatic killer turns deadly.

8. ‘GUNPOWDER MILKSHAKE’

Gunpowder Milkshake is about three generations of women who fight back against those who took everything from them. The all-star cast includes Emmy-nominee Lena Headey, multi award-winner Carla Gugino, BAFTA-nominee Michelle Yeoh, Paul Giamatti, Angela Bassett and Freya Allan. 

The film will be available to stream on Showmax from 11 July.

9. ‘IN THE HEIGHTS’

Directed by Crazy Rich Asians director Jon M Chu, In the Heights is based on the Tony-winning musical by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Quiara Alegía Hudes and Grammy-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda. 

The New York City-based film stars Anthony Ramos, Melissa Barrera, Leslie Grace and Olga Meridiz, best known for her performance in Disney’s Encanto

The film hits Showmax on 21 July.

10. ‘PAW PATROL: THE MOVIE’

Based on the beloved pre-school television series, Paw Patrol: The Movie, sees Ryder and his pack of puppy hero friends to Adventure City where the greedy mayor is turning the bustling metropolis into a state of chaos. 

The film features a new pup on the squad who is voiced by Black-ish star Marsai Martin and features a cameo from reality star and businesswoman Kim Kardashian who plays a fancy poodle. 

The film will be available on 18 July.

11. ‘CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG’

Clifford the Big Red Dog is based on the beloved series of 80 children’s books by Norman Bridwell that centre around a tiny puppy called Clifford. The film star Oscar nominee John Cleese, Darby Camp, Jack Whitehall, Tony Hale and Saturday Night Live star Kenan Thompson.

12. ‘THE BOSS BABY: FAMILY BUSINESS’

Directed by Oscar nominee Tom McGrath, The Boss Baby: Family Business is the follow-up to The Boss Baby. The film catches up with the Templeton brothers who are now adults and who have drifted apart until a new boss baby sets out to bring them back together. 

The film features an all-star voice cast which includes the likes of Alec Baldwin, James Marsden and Jeff Goldblum.
