What’s happening at the V&A Waterfront this March

From watching movies under the stars to First Thursdays at the Silo District, the V&A Waterfront announced its event listings for March 2022.

The V&A Waterfront announced that three events will take place this March 2022, including two films showcased at the Galileo Open Air Cinema and First Thursdays at the Silo District.

It feels like there’s always something brewing at the Waterfront!

First Thursdays at the Silo District

On Thursday, 3 March 2022, you and your friends are invited to explore the cultural attractions of the V&A Waterfront’s Silo District after hours.

You can also enjoy half-price admission at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCCA) from 18:00, while other exhibitions and attractions open to the public from 17:00 to 21:00. The programme includes exhibitions at Zeitz MOCAA and Southern Guild, short films at Radisson RED, music at The Yard, and great food and drinks around the district.

As tickets to Zeitz MOCAA are limited, booking online is encouraged in advance via Webtickets. Other venues on the programme are free to visit (no tickets required). To see a detailed programme, please click here.

The Galileo Open Air Cinema presents JLo’s Monster in Law at Battery Park

The Galileo Open Air Cinema will present Monster-In-Law on Friday, 4 March from 18:00 at the V&A Waterfront’s Battery Park. The film tells the story of loveable Jennifer Lopez’s character, Charlotte who finally finds the man of her dreams and decides to settle down with him. However, things get out of hand when his mother (played by Jane Fonda) decides to ruin their relationship.

Throwing it back to Christmas at the waterfront

The Galileo Open Air Cinema will present Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz’s The Holiday on Friday, 25 March from 18:00 at the V&A Waterfront’s Battery Park. The Holiday sees two women from different countries swap homes for the holidays to get away from their relationship issues. However, their lives change unexpectedly when they meet and fall in love with two local guys.

Tickets for both shows start from R109 and can be purchased online. These films are expected to start at sunset with a variety of delicious food, tasty treats, and hot and cold beverages available on location.

Make sure to read the Galileo Open Air Cinema’s terms and conditions as no outside chairs/backrests are allowed and a light drizzle, cold or light wind will not cancel the event, so please come prepared.
