From her professional life to the love of her life, here are five things to know about Christina Carmela who hails from Cape Town.

South African model Christina Carmela found herself on Netflix’s reality show Too Hot To Handle and immediately had tongues wagging after she set her sights on someone else’s love interest.
CHRISTINA ON ‘TOO HOT TO HANDLE’
Too Hot To Handle is a reality show on Netflix that focuses on 10 single individuals forming meaningful relationships by abstaining from physical and intimate activity as they attempt to win a whopping R1.5 million rand.
The contestants do not know what they’re getting themselves into beforehand as they were under the impression they were entering “Parties in Paradise”. Well, at least they’ve got the paradise part down as the show is filmed in Turks and Caicos in the Caribbean. Christina is introduced on the fourth episode of the show where she threatens the relationship between paired-up love birds Cam and Emily.

Here are five things to know about the reality star.
1. SHE COMES FROM A DIVERSE BACKGROUND
Christina hails from Cape Town, Western Cape and she is half-Italian and half-Portuguese as her dad is Italian and her mom is Portugese.
2. SHE IS 30-YEARS-OLD
The pilot is 30-years-old and an aquarius born on 26 January 1991.
3. SHE IS A PILOT
Christina is both a model and a pilot, a career inspired by her father. As she works in a male-dominated industry, she is a strong advocate for women in aviation. The model has most recently worked for Indonesia’s Susi Air but lost her job during the pandemic. However, from the looks off her Instagram, she appears to be flying again.
“I always say I have to work double as hard for half the credit. It was a lot worse when I started flying over eight years ago but now it’s better! It’s way more common to have females in the cockpit now. It could be better, of course, that’s why I’m trying to encourage and inspire as many girls and women to get into it,” said Christina Carmela to HeyBoo.
4. SHE IS AN AVID TRAVELLER
As a perk to her profession, Christina is able to travel around the world. According to her Instagram, she has most recently been to Ibiza, Spain, Mykonos, Greece and Monaco a sovereign city-state on the French Riviera close to the Italian region of Liguria, in Western Europe.
5. SHE FOUND LOVE ON THE SHOW
Christina gave off the “bad girl” vibe and was therefore sent home by Lana, a virtual assistant on the show for not attempting to create a meaningful relationship but instead breaking rules with British actor British actor Robert Van Tromp.
However, Christina and Robert worked on their relationship off-screen and are currently together and both now live in London, England. She recently posted a birthday tribute to Robert.
“All I can say is thank you for being born! we met through the craziest experience and have been obsessed with each other ever since. You are a gem of a human & I appreciate you sooo much,” wrote Christina Carmella on Instagram.
