An Indonesian woman on TikTok revealed she had the ultimate revenge on her husband after he failed to do a list of chores he was given…

The woman – who uses the handle “miakurniawan01” – posted a 20 second clip of her deep-frying her partner’s Arowana – listed as the “world’s most expensive fish”,  after he forgot to clean the fish tank.

BIGGER FISH TO FRY

The TikTok video – which had users both disgusted and – shows the woman complaining about her husband ignoring her request.

She says in the accompanying clip: “My husband kept promising to clean the aquarium after I told him to. I thought it would be delicious if I fried it.”

It then cuts to her descaling the dead fish – which according to Netshark can cost anywhere from $300 (R4500) – $70 000 (R1 million), seasoning it and then deep frying it in a frying pan.

“Already cooked and ready to eat,” she proudly boasts, showing off her meal.

TIKTOK USERS CLAPBACK

In southeast Asian countries, Arowana is deemed a”a symbol of wealth and prosperity” and are collected as how one would collect expensive cars

The woman has faced a backlash from angry commentators, but has insisted the fish was “dead” after living in a dirty tank.

“My brother cried watching this,” commented one user, whilst another added: “The most expensive fried fish.”

She also claims in the comments of the TikTok video that her husband was initially upset, but “forgave” her for the incident, and has promised to look after his new fish – and fish tank – in the future.

The couple are now shopping for new pet Arowana fish.
