The “Cape Doctor” always brings the best medicine, like a stacked festival programme for Suidoosterfees 2022, set to take place from 27 April to 1 May at Artscape in Cape Town.

About the 2022 Suidoosterfees

According to Brian Figaji, chair of the festival board, everything is in place to offer festivalgoers a safe, unforgettable experience.

“In the past two years, the Suidoosterfees had to adapt its activities to meet national safety regulations relating to the pandemic. We hope to be able to present our festival on a bigger scale this year, and we invite everybody to join us.”

During the pandemic, Suidoosterfees has managed to keep audiences entertained with a variety of productions and activities, providing a stage to professional artists and participants of development projects.

Special packages and tickets

Special discount packages that include accommodation and tickets to shows, are available to visitors who plan a breakaway to the Mother City and enjoy quality entertainment at the festival. More information will be available on the Suidoosterfees website and social media soon.

Festival organisers are keenly aware of the economic fallout caused by the pandemic; therefore tickets can be purchased at special discounts, and many productions are free of charge to the public. All in a safe, festive environment.

This year’s jam-packed programme emanates from our sponsors’ and artists’ commitment to keep creating art, especially during challenging times.

The festival programme

In 2022 people can look forward to top-class productions, varying from musical theatre to classical music, drama and youth theatre, to interesting book discussions.
