Somizi’s daughter Bahumi stars in new dramedy ‘Grown Woman’

Bahumi Mhlongo is slowly cementing her name in the entertainment industry and has now bagged a role alongside Linda Sokhulu in a 1Magic show.

The cast members of the new dramedy that will star industry greats such as Linda Sokhula and Nandi Nyembe will also feature Somizi Mhlongo’s child, Bahumi Mhlongo.

Bahumi will be playing Linda Sokhulu’s child on the show alongside Sandile Mahlangu who is best known for his role on the How to Ruin Christmas franchise.

WHAT ‘GROWN WOMAN’ IS ABOUT

According to Actor Spaces, the show follows Linda Sokhulu’s character (Tina Hlatshawayo) who after the death of her husband Sbu, Tina – known to many as ‘Mrs H’ – has to learn a new way of living not just for her two children Sakhile (played by Sakhille Mahlangu), and Noxee (played by Bahumi Mhlongo), but for herself.

“Having been married for 25 years, she spent all her time balancing work and home, but with the children grown and her husband gone, it’s time for her to look inwards and figure out who she is and what makes her happy,” the publication said.

“On this new journey, she encounters a handsome, much younger man, Rakwena (fondly known as ‘Ra’, and played by Moeko), who helps her rediscover herself and brings about a much-needed sexual awakening. How will her loved ones react to her changing lifestyle?,” the publication said.

Sunday World said, Tina spent 25 years raising her children and working and now has to look inward and figure out who she is and what makes her happy at 49 years.

The show is produced by Red Pepper Pictures and stars Hlubi Mboya Arnold amongst others and promises to be a risqué new dramedy premiering on 1Magic on 3 February at 21:30.
