‘The Wife’ season three takes a break

Showmax will not upload new episodes of ‘The Wife’ on Thursdays, 16 February and 23 February as it’s taking a two week break.

Showmax has revealed that they won’t be releasing any episodes of their The Wife episodes on Thursdays 16 and 23 February.

‘THE WIFE’ RETURNS IN MARCH

The award-winning telenovela The Wife will return on 2 March following a two-week break on Thursdays 16 and 23 February.

The streaming platform revealed on Twitter: “#TheWifeShowmax izothi shwii for a 2-week scheduling break from next week, but this week, it’s going to shoob.”

Daily Sun reports that the telenovela’s third and final season, which stars House of Zwide actress Gaisang Noge as Naledi Montsho and Imbewu star Kwenzo Ngcobo as Qhawe Zulu will conclude on 6 April.

“IT’S A WRAP FOR UMAHLOMU ZULU”

The show’s leading actress Mbalenhle Mavimbela, who plays Hlomu Zulu for three seasons revealed she’s exited The Wife on Friday, 10 February.

“It’s a picture wrap for uMahlomu. I walked into this production as a young lady and left as a wise woman. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and has been a part of my journey from the very beginning. A huge thank you to @Showmaxoinline, @Staineglasstv1, and @dstv for this amazing opportunity.”

Mavimbela also thanked the 5 Am gang for sticking with her through all the seasons. 

The Wife actress previously revealed in an interview with  Daily Sun that playing Hlomu Zulu came with challenges and that she had to get therapy.  

“Playing Hlomu came with its own challenges. It was nothing I expected to relate to her at first. but when I got into her character, I was absorbed so much that I couldn’t separate myself from her. I found myself thinking like Hlomu even when I was on set. Getting into her character came so naturally so much that I found myself struggling to get out of character.”
