A young lady has left the internet divided after sharing how she made the drastic decision to delete a couple’s wedding photos before they had seen it. According to her post, she decided to delete the snaps after she was denied a food and water break following six hours of taking photos for the couple on their special day!
Taking to Reddit’s Am I The Asshole (AITA) forum, a young woman with the handle Icy-Reserve6995 asked other group members whether or not she should be feeling guilty about deleting a couple’s wedding photos in front of them.
According to the post, she is a dog groomer who takes photos of dogs and shares them on her social media pages. She was then approached by her friends who asked whether she would be able to take their wedding photos – which she agreed to do for a rate of $250 (about R3 700).
She then explains how her 10-hour-long job started as she snapped the bride’s makeup and hair process, the reception, the wedding toast, and even people mingling.
“On the day of, I’m driving around following the bride as she goes from appointment to appointment before the ceremony, taking photos along the way. I shoot the ceremony itself, and during the reception, I’m shooting speeches and people mingling,” she writes.

She then explains that after quite a few hours, she naturally became tired and hungry and asked whether or not she could take a short break, but was told no by the groom who proceeds to tell her that she needs to continue working or forfeit her payment for the day’s work.
This upset her so much that she deleted all the photos she had taken up until then in front of the groom. Unfortunately, she doesn’t say what his reaction was but we’re pretty sure he regretted being so unreasonable.
“He tells me I need to either be the photographer or leave without pay. With the heat, being hungry, being generally annoyed at the circumstances, I asked if he was sure, and he said yes, so I deleted all the photos I took in front of him and took off saying I’m not his photographer anymore.”
The post received thousands of comments from Reddit users who all agreed that she was definitely not the asshole. Many of them did however express that perhaps deleting the photos was taking it a little too far…
