1. R100K FOR DIAMOND NAILS

The Tammy Taylor Nails SA founder Mel Viljoen held a diamond nails session for the Real Housewives van Pretoria ladies. She was also joined by Kelly Khumalo’s attorney Magdalene Moonsamy.

“I hold the worldwide patent for installing diamonds into nails. So I decided one day that diamonds in nails would be fabulous and I hoped that everyone else thought the same,” she said on the latest episode of Real Housewives van Pretoria.

Mel went on to reveal that they have sold sets of nails for a whopping R100 000.

“So, we have sold sets of R100 000 per set of nails,” she continued.

2. MEL SHADES KIKI

The reality star seemingly threw shade at Kiki for becoming more friendly with the other housewives.

“I believe Kiki is experiencing internal conflict because the women are beginning to embrace her as a friend. She mentioned Renske’s cars were a bit dirty and had things to say about that. And now she appears to want to be their friend,” she said.

3. MEL REACTS TO KIKI ‘ASKING FOR MONEY’

Kiki La Coco and her husband Malcolm sat down with Mel Viljoen and her friend at the charity event. The couple then ask Mel how much she will be donating.

“I’m so stupid that it never crossed my mind that they’d actually ask me for money. And.. I was ready for the moment though,” said Mel.

The Tammy Taylor Nails SA founder then went on to ask how much people usually give. Kiki then responded from R20 to R100 000.

“Judging by the way you look in your expensive outfit you can’t give less than R50 000,” said Malcolm.

“Not once could they tell me what it is, what it looks like, what they envision. They couldn’t account for one cent and how it’s going to work. I just hope the charity, paid partnerships and the like.. Don’t become a trend in the relationship,” said Mel.

4. REALITY STAR ACCUSED OF ‘BLACKCENTING’

A Twitter user accused Mel of “blackcenting” on an episode of RHOPTA where she was speaking to a driver during their vacation in Zanzibar. The reality star denied “blackcenting”, saying that was her usual voice.

“I am Afrikaans, and I was speaking in a non-American (usual self) voice. I was not aware such a “scenting” thing exists. It’s more an Afrikaans-English platteland kind of way. That’s how I talk,” said Mel exclusively to The South African.

5. MEL SHOWS VIEWERS A ‘SOFTER SIDE’

Mel revealed that she grew up with her mom, stepfather and two half-brothers. She explained that her stepfather spoiled her two brothers by giving them money and she also wanted money to buy her own sweets. So, she started making pancakes and selling them to make her own spending money.

“I grew up with a stepfather. And my stepfather and my mother had two children together. My two half brothers. And they were spoiled by my stepfather. So, I noticed the two guys were getting money and I didn’t, and I wanted to go buy sweets for myself as well,” she said.

“And so I decided to make money by selling pancakes,” she continued.

She also revealed that she worked and paid for her own school fees in her final year of school.
