Calling all fans. A live-action reboot of the animated series ‘Powerpuff Girls’ is on the cards. Here’s everything we know.

The Powerpuff Girls….yes, the trio of powerful sisters Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup….many remember them well but for those who have been missing them, we have some good news. They are expected to return as twenty-somethings in their live-action reboot titled Powerpuff.
FIRST LOOK AT THE REBOOT
The first look at the upcoming series was released over social media revealing the three faces who are set to bring the animated series to life.
Powerpuff will be starring Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D’s Chloe Bennet as Blossom, Liv and Maddie’s Dove Cameron as Bubbles and singer-songwriter Yana Perrault as Buttercup.
‘POWERPUFF’ PLOT AND RELEASE DATE
Powerpuff is set years later as the girls approach their twenty-somethings described by Variety as “(the girls) resent having lost their childhood to crime-fighting. Will they agree to reunite now that the world needs them more than ever”.
The series has been in development since 2018 and has reportedly begun filming its first episode in Atlanta. However the release date is not yet available.
MEET THE ADULT VERSIONS OF THE ‘POWERPUFF GIRLS‘
BLOSSOM PLAY BY CHLOE BENNET
“Though she was a spunky, conscientious, Little-Miss-Perfect child who holds several advanced degrees — has repressed kiddie-superhero trauma has left her feeling anxious and reclusive, and she aims to become a leader again, this time on her own terms,” according to Variety.
BUBBLES PLAYED BY DOVE CAMERON
“Bubbles’ sweet-girl disposition won America’s hearts as a child. She still sparkles as an adult, but her charming exterior belies an unexpected toughness and wit. She’s initially more interested inrecapturing her fame than saving the world, but she just might surprise us and herself,” according to Variety.
BUTTERCUP PLAYED BY YANA PERRAULT
“Buttercup was the rebellious badass of The Powerpuff Girls in its heyday. More sensitive than her tough exterior suggests, Buttercup has spent her adulthood trying to shed her Powerpuff Girl identity and live an anonymous life,” according to Variety.
OTHER ‘POWERPUFF’ CAST MEMBERS
Scrubs star Donald Faison will play Professor Utonium, father and creator of the Powerpuff girls.
Nicholas Podany will play the evil Mojo Jojo.
Blake Lively’s older sister Robyn Lively will play Sarah Bellum, the mayor’s right hand woman.
As exciting as reliving their childhood is, some others feel like they could live without a Powerpuff Girls reboot.
