In a city filled with thousands of singletons, Liesl (van Niekerk) and Sybrand (Hengst) could not be further apart. Liesl is a divorce lawyer focused on her career, and Sybrand is an accountant still dealing with his heartbreak after being left at the altar a few years ago. Their lives are not terrible, just terribly predictable and boring.

It’s Friday night and Liesl’s colleague, Jo (Schutte) convinces her to be more impulsive and join them for a night out. As if by chance, Sybrand’s bully co-worker Merwe (Greg) needs a designated driver for their night out. Unbeknownst to Liesl and Sybrand, Merwe and Jo had been set up on a blind date – and Jo decides that this is the perfect opportunity to test Liesl’s spontaneity, and rather let her go on the date. One misunderstanding leads to the other and before we know it, Liesl and Sybrand, two introverts end up on what seems to be the world’s most awkward first date.

Merwe and Jo meet up at the bar next door and soon realise what has transpired. Jo spots an opportunity to let the two ‘lovebirds’ have some fun for once and a chase around Cape Town ensues. Is there such a thing as coincidence, or will these two end up having more fun than they’d like to admit?

The script was written by Retief Scholtz and the director is Willem Grobler.
