Amapiano star Kabelo Petrus Motha, popularly known by his stage name, Kabza De Small scooped four awards at the 27th South African Music Awards (Samas) which aired on SABC1 on Saturday, 31 July after a virtual recording.

The virtual awards show was recorded in a Johannesburg studio under strict COVID-19 level four lockdown protocols and hosted by Lawrence Maleka and Bontle Modiselle Moloi.

BIGGEST WINNER OF THE NIGHT

Kabza De Small was the man of the night at the 27th annual Sama’s. He led the nominees list with six nominations and walked home with four awards, the biggest number by a single artist this year. 

Kabza De Small’s partner-in-amapiano DJ Maphorisa followed closely with three awards for their collaborative work as “Scorpion Kings“.

SAMA27 HIGHLIGHTS

Master KG won the Samro Composer Highest Airplay award alongside Nomcebo Zikode and the International Achiever Award for his hit Jerusalema, which recently caused a stir as Nomcebo claimed she had not been paid. 

Rapper Sho Madjozi, who was recently spotted out with media personality Maps Maponyane in Rwanda, scooped up the Best Traditional Album and Female Artist of the Year. While Blaq Diamond was crowned Artist of the Year.
