‘REALITY CHECK’ – NO CELLPHONES ALLOWED

Like Hart, fans are getting ready for the first show in Cape Town tonight. But please note if you are caught using your cell phone, you will be escorted out.

Over the past few years the banning of cellphones and other recording devices at shows have become a standing policy for Hart and other comedians.

This is to protect their material from being pirated and distributed on the internet, Ebony.com reports.

Recently, publications have reported that attendees at Hart’s shows whop violated this policy have been escorted from the venue.

Other comedians such as Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock and Tracy Morgan have instituted similar policies.

Chappelle reportedly works with Yondr, a company that created pouches so attendees of his shows can lock up their phones until the performance is over.

The phones can still be accessed but can only be unlocked by a Yondr team member and only in a designated area. Ebony.com reports.
