Inside Lillian Dube and Moshe Ndiki’s new TV show ‘7 Colours’

Moshe Ndiki and Lillian Dube chat about their love for beetroot in their new cooking TV show titled ‘7 Colours’ which debuts today.

Legendary actress Lillian Dube and Moshe Ndiki discuss their cooking TV show – 7 Colours which launches on Dstv’s channel – Honey today.  

The pair also chat about working together for the first time and their favourite food in a seven colour plate.

LILLIAN DUBE MEETS MOSHE NDIKI   

Veteran actress and TV host Lillian Dube recently revealed that she had no idea who her co-host Moshe Ndiki was before they started working together on the set of their new show – 7 Colours on Dstv’s Hone.  

The 76-year-old thespian told Sowetan in an interview:  

“I only met Moshe on set. I never knew of Moshe or heard of him.”

“I was pleasantly surprised and to find out he was so famous, even more than me, it made me very jealous.”  

Dube also told the publication that Ndiki is a joy to work with and makes her feel like it’s Christmas every day.  

“Moshe that b*****d! I’m surprised I haven’t killed him,” Dube jokingly says.

“It’s a joy working with Moshe, it’s like Christmas Day. The whole day with him is just laughter.”

BACKGROUND OF ‘7 COLOURS’  

Actor and media personality Moshe Ndiki – who is known for his role on The Queen and for hosting various TV shows on Moja Love opens up about working on 7 Colours with the veteran actress.   

The pair will visit Mzansi homes and explore how ordinary South Africans prepare their Sunday food known as seven colours.   

The pair reveal that they bonded over their love for beetroot while filming and they agree that 7 colours is not complete without the vegetable.   

“The minute I see beetroot, I’m over the moon. Not the one made with chutney, but vinegar,” Dube says.  

Ndiki tells the publication that it’s amazing to work with Mama Lillian.  

“I’m learning a lot about my cooking skills and other people’s skills,” Ndiki later sings Dube’s praises over a WhatsApp voice note.   

“She’s so funny and I’ve never seen such an energetic 76-year-old in my life.”

“Sometimes she has more energy than me. She is hilarious.”  

Dube and Ndiki will make their debut as hosts of 7 Colours today (17 February) on channel 173 on Dstv at 16:30.
