South Africans seem to be divided on the new season of South Africa’s biggest talent search competition, Idols SA and its new judges.

Idols SA kicked off on Sunday, 17 July and returned with new judges musicians JR Bogopa and Thembi Seete who replaced Randall Abrahams and Unathi Nkayi who left the show at the end of Season 17.

MIXED REACTIONS ON IDOLS SA NEW SEASON

Fan-favourite, Somizi Mhlongo who did not finish Season 17 because of abuse allegations against his estranged husband Mohale Motaung is still part of the judging panel and ProVerb is still on the show.

While many were ecstatic about the return of the singing competition, others were not impressed with the new judges and called for Unathi and Randall to return to the show.

“The show is not giving shame, I miss Unathi and Randall. Even the editing is not helping, can we just skip to the Live Show instead.” @GomezSM tweeted.

“I may pretend as if everything is okay but deep down I miss Randall Abrahams.” @simthobiyela tweeted too.

MZANSI IMPRESSED BY NEW JUDGES

Despite the calls for Unathi and Randall to return to the show, other people were highly impressed by Thembi and JR.

“Its like Thembi and JR have been judging for ages. Whoever is responsible for choosing the judges, understood the assignment.” @beko_simnikiwe tweeted.
