‘Idols SA’ finalist ZanoThando releases his love-filled single ‘Isela’

Some amazing musicians have come straight off the Idols SA stage, and into the music industry. Idols SA season 16 finalist ZanoThando is no exception. The talented musician was one to watch on Idols SA last year and he has just dropped his brand new single.

ZANOTHANDO ON  ‘IDOLS SA’

ZanoThando (real name Sonwabile Ngxito) from Rustenberg, North West entered Idols in 2020 with one thing in mind, to be the season 16 winner of the show. Unfortunately, the 24-year-old was voted out after making the Top 4.

The powerful vocalist gave outstanding performances throughout his Idols SA journey and fans never questioned his talent and charisma.

One of his more notable performances was his top 5 performance of Tyler ICU and Nicole Elocin’s amapiano hit Bella Ciao featuring Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa. 

ZANOTHANDO’S NEW SINGLE

Independent record label Kalawa Jazmee signed Idols SA’s season 16 Top 5 after recognising all of their incredible talents. 

ZanoThando released his new single Isela on 16 July under Kalawa Jazmee. The singer described his song as something for anyone who has had their heart stolen before.

“Each and every one of us have their own specific someone who steals their heart away. Those people drive us. The song is about that kind of love.”

Chatting to Sunbuzz he said he can definitely relate to the song because it’s a familiar feeling to him.

“It’s doing great so far. There’s positive response. On the first day of release, it trended on Twitter as people were talking about it. Now the support is growing daily.”

WHAT’S NEXT?

ZanoThando has lined up some big names for his upcoming projects and has been spending some extra time in the studio cooking up some big hits. 

  He says fans should look out for collaborations with Ambitiouz Entertainment’s Blaq Diamond and heartfelt musician Aubrey Qwana. 

“I don’t want to say when exactly the project will come out because you should not call people to come to the dinner table to eat while the food is still being prepared.”
