Grammy Awards 2023: Beyoncé reigns supreme; list of key winners

It’s been Beyoncé’s year: Following hot on the heels of the music star’s Renaissance world tour announcement, Queen Bey became the most successful Grammy award-winning artist in history on Sunday evening 5 February.

She clinched the all-time Grammy record by winning the award for Best Dance/Electronic Music Album for Renaissance. Her four Grammy wins of the night brings her career total to 32, thus surpassing late Hungarian-British conductor George Solti, whose record of 31 Grammys had stood for more than 20 years, according to BBC.

“I’m trying not to be too emotional. And I’m trying to just receive this night,” Queen Bey, who arrived late at the Cryto.com Arena due to Los Angeles traffic, said.

“I’m surprised traffic could stop you,” joked South African-born host Trevor Noah.

“I thought you travelled through space and time.”

Harry Styles won the Album of the Year award, while Lizzo, Adele, Kendrick Lamar, Brandi Carlile and Bonnie Raitt also took home the coveted golden statuettes.
