Grammy Awards 2023: Beyoncé vs Adele and other nominations

The Grammy Awards nominations have been announced and Beyoncé and Adele are slaying it! See who else have been nominated.

The Grammy Awards 2023 nominations were announced and people are already beaming with excitement. The annual music awards ceremony takes place in Los Angeles with the best musicians all over the world

Among the nominated artists are Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, along with British artists Adele and Harry Styles.

BEYONCE VS ADELE AT THE GRAMMY AWARDS

It looks like vocalist Adele and our Sasha Fierce, Beyoncé, will be going head to head at the Grammy Awards in 2023.

The two have are always swooping awards and speak about how they admire each other. Adele once said Beyoncé should have won at the 59th Grammy’s in 2017.

“This year, the pair are once again nominated in the Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Album of the Year categories. Beyoncé has nine nominations to Adele’s seven. Adele won the last showdown in 2017, sweeping up five Grammys to Beyoncé’s two,” according to Independent UK.

The former Destiny’s Child lead singer released an album titled Renaissance which received a lot of attention from the Beyhive.

Adele released 30 in 2021 and we’ve been here for it since.

OTHER NOMINATIONS

Other nominations including wide variety of artists from our very own African superstar Burna Boy for ‘Last Last’ hit-song in the Best Global Music Performance category.

The popular South Korean group BTS has also been nominated for the best duo/group category with the mega song ‘My Universe’, a collab with Coldplay.

“This year’s awards include new categories such as songwriter of the year (non-classical), best alternative music performance and best Americana performance,” said the The Guardian.

NICKI MINAJ BLASTS THE GRAMMYS

Rapper, and ‘Starships’ hit-maker, Nicki Minaj wasn’t really feeling the Grammy’s with their choices.

The rapper blasted the Grammy Awards ahead of the announcements and accused them of prioritising new artists.
