#FridayFeelGood: Shelter dog gets paw-some 12th birthday party [photos]

It was an exciting day indeed for Stitch, a 12-year-old shelter dog who recently got a new foster parent after living in a shelter for 12 whole years. The community where little Stitch lives felt like after all these years of her being a “good girl” she deserved to be spoiled with a special celebration – and judging by the snaps, it was pretty special!

It isn’t every day a dog gets to celebrate their 12th birthday surrounded by loving human people and their fellow doggy friends. This is why Stitch, a 12-year-old shelter dog, must be the luckiest dog in South Africa after the community where she lives decided to spoil her with a birthday party to celebrate her life.

Stitch was also recently placed in a foster home after waiting all her life to get foster parents and this made the special occasion even more beautiful.

Various photos taken by Pawtrait Pet Photography show how Stitch and a few other dogs enjoy some treats that were baked by a dog bakery called Hound and Home.

Her new mom Aurora couldn’t be happier

Taking to Facebook, Stitch’s new foster mom Aurora found the entire thing delightful and gushed on the social media app over how many ‘paws-itvely’ delicious doggy baked goods the bakery provided for Stitch’s birthday party.

“Hound & Home baked up a little bit of EVERYTHING! Yes, you heard that right! Stitch got 2 Cakes, 12 Cupcakes, 12 Carob Coated Donuts, and Cookies. She couldn’t eat it all on her own, we invited some of her besties along!” she wrote according to a GoodThingsGuy article.

She also took some time to wish the adorable doggo a very happy birthday:

“Stitch, you deserved all the spoils and SO much more! Happy Belated Birthday sweet girl!” she wrote.
