Award-winning actor Michael B Jordan is set to make his directorial debut for the upcoming sports drama film, ‘Creed III’.

Award-winning actor Michael B Jordan and Warner Brothers have released the trailer for the high-intensity sports drama film, Creed III. This marks Jordan’s third instalment of the series and his directorial debut. The film is set to be released on 3 March 2023.

‘CREED III’ TRAILER 

Creed III follows Adonis Creed (Michael B Jordan) who is thriving as a successful professional boxer. His childhood friend, Damien Anderson (Jonathan Majors) returns after serving time in jail and it doesn’t take long before friends turn into enemies. 

The film is also set to star Tessa Thompson, Florian Munteanu, Wood Harris, Phylicia Rashad and Selenis Leyva. 

Speaking about his directorial debut, Jordan said he turned to Black Panther director Ryan Coogler as he dived into the world behind the camera. 

“I was talking to Ryan Coogler back when we were doing Creed. He was just like: ‘It’s never the right time. You just gotta jump in the deep end and go for it’. So it just felt like it was the right time for me,” said the actor as per Entertainment Weekly

MICHAEL B JORDAN PRAISES JONATHAN MAJORS 

As a director, the 35-year-old star said casting Jonathan Majors in Creed III “made all the difference in the world”. Majors is best known for his roles in Loki, The Harder They Fall and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

“I think he’s extremely talented. The world is finding out daily how incredible this man is. The work that he does is finally getting the props, you know, the props that it’s due,” he said. 

“Jonathan was incredible, man. He showed up every day ready to go to war, ready to work. Me and him bonded in a way that I’ve never had the opportunity to before.”

TWEEPS ARE EXCITED FOR ‘CREED III’

Creed III will be released five years after the second film in the series and tweeps can’t wait. One tweep said Jordan was “brave” to act next to Majors. 

“Michael B Jordan brave as hell to go up against Jonathan Majors in Creed III. And I’m not talking about in the cinematic boxing ring or whatever. I’m talking about in regards to acting,” wrote one tweep. 

Creed III and Black Panther 2 dropping in a six-month span… that man put his pain to work!!!” wrote another tweep.
