Emmy-nominated ventriloquist Conrad Koch and his quirky puppet Chester Missing are gearing up for a comedy show titled Ramapuppet in Cape Town and Johannesburg. Koch aims to make the theatres roar with laughter after a grim lockdown period and he’s bringing some new friends along.

‘RAMAPUPPET’

Speaking to IOL, Conrad Koch described his upcoming comedy show as fun, family-friendly and most importantly PG13. The talented comedian will be addressing several topics that have impacted South Africa like the unrest in July 2021, the state capture report and the fire at Parliament earlier this month.

“We will be laughing at our shopping methods during the pandemic, how the checking of temperatures was done at stores. I mean, have you ever found out you had Covid at a Mugg & Bean?”

The show’s name, Ramapuppet, is a play on President Cyril Ramaphosa’s “family meetings”. Koch said he chose the name because it would be fun.

CHESTER MISSING GETS SOME NEW FRIENDS!

Conrad Koch’s puppet Chester Missing is getting some new friends. Kock is bringing Mr Dixon, an Afrikaans teacher, Ronnie, an internet troll and Hilon the ostrich.

Mr Dixon is a one-of-a-kind teacher. He teaches Afrikaans but can’t speak the language…

“Hilton the party ostrich is ready, seeing as there was six months of no partying! He will also be speaking about how it was actually illegal for your in-laws to visit you during this time.”
