The V&A Waterfront location is especially convenient as you can get your Christmas shopping done and then take a nostalgic trip down memory lane at the drive-in.
The new open-air cinema which will start showing movies on Friday 27 November, is a partnership between Ster-Kinekor and the V&A Waterfront.
According to a recent blog post by the mall, patrons will pay R250 per car for new releases, while pre-released or older movies will cost R220 per car. Tickets will be sold online.
Snacks can be ordered at R100 for fizzy drinks and popcorn, and because of coronavirus health restrictions these will be sealed and delivered to your car.
Movies will be screened at various times between Thursday and Sunday during the festive season.
The drive-in cinema boasts a state-of- the-art LED outdoor movie screen which will allow for high-quality viewing both during the afternoon and evening.
To enjoy the experience, you simply use your car radio to tune into the FM radio frequency and voila, you’re set to go!
Nicholas Cage’s new action fantasy, Jiu Jitsu, will officially launch the outdoor experience this Friday at 19:00. Unfortunately this film is not suitable for viewers under 16, but do not fret as more family-friendly fare will soon follow. These include past releases The Incredibles, 100% Wolf and the beloved animated classic Toy Story.
The following movies will be screened in the Victoria Wharf Car Park at the Breakwater Boulevard entrance.
Bookings are via Quicket.
