Pop icons BTS partner with global gaming giant ‘Garena Free Fire’

Award-winning pop stars BTS are the new global ambassadors for ‘Free Fire’, one of the world’s most-downloaded mobile games in 2021.

Garena, a leading global online games developer and publisher has announced that Korean pop icons, BTS, are their newest global brand ambassadors. The Butter hitmakers will entire the world of Free Fire, a battle royale game published by Garena. On the award-winning boy band partnering with Free Fire, the game’s producer, Harold Teo said BTS’s appeal and influence are unrivalled.

ABOUT FREE FIRE

Garena, run by passionate gamers, is a leading games developer and publisher. The publishers and games developers have a unique and deep understanding of what gamers want. Some of their most popular mobile games are Call of Duty mobile, Arena of Valor and Fairy Tail: Forces Unite.

According to App Annie, Free Fire, the publisher’s mobile battle royale game, was the most-downloaded mobile game in the world in 2019, 2020 and 2021. 

In August 2021, Free Fire achieved a record of more than 150 million daily active users. 

FREE FIRE TEAMS UP WITH BTS 

Since their debut in 2013, BTS has risen as of the most successful boy bands from South Korea. Their international breakthrough was in 2014 after the release of their EP, Skol Luv Affair

Speaking on Free Fire’s collaboration with BTS, the mobile game’s publisher, Harold Teo said the brand is excited to welcome the pop icons as their latest brand ambassador and can’t wait to share the plans they have in place. 

“Bringing BTS into the Free Fire universe will offer our players more ways to engage with the game, socialise with the community and enjoy new experiences added Teo.

WHAT DOES THE PARTNERSHIP MEAN? 

 BTS will appear on the Free Fire mobile game in March. Taking to the Instagram page on 28 February, Free Fire said the group’s fans can look forward to a series of events and activities in the weeks to come. 

“Both in the game and beyond,” added the Free Fire.
