House of the Dragon is set around 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones. The series follows the Targaryen family which are Daenerys and Jon Snow’s ancestors – through a civil war.
Viewers can expect to find out why Dany and Jon are the last Targaryens left. The show will also shed light on why Dany’s trio of dragons were the last three in the world despite the world previously being full of them.
The series is based on George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood.
Plot: The storyline is based on a civil war between Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and her half-brother, Aegon II. This war is to determine who will succeed their father, Viserys I, to the throne. House of the Dragon does not immediately jump into the war, but the events leading up to it.
This is the world of Westeros with many familiar visuals from Game of Thrones but there are many more dragons in this one!
