‘Shaka Ilembe’ official trailer has been released [watch]

The new South African historical drama ‘Shaka Ilembe’ is set to premiere on 18 June 2023 on Mzansi Magic, channel 161.

A new series will air on Mzansi Magic channel 161, Shaka Ilembe will premiere on 18 June at 20:00 PM; it’s said to follow the journey of an African King’s “historic rise to one of the greatest monarchs of the Zulu kingdom.”

MORE ABOUT THE ‘SHAKA ILEMBE’ SERIES

According to DStv, the series is set in the 1700s. The show itself was said to have been six years in the making.

Academics and historians such as family descendants of King Misuzulu ka Zwelithini, including Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, as well as the late King Goodwill Zwelithini were said to have been consulted.

A brand-new trailer for the upcoming historical drama was released by DStv on Sunday, 23 April online.

It gives a glimpse into the drama which is also about love, passion, family, battle, and other things.

According to Kaya FM, viewers can expect to see the works of Nomzamo Mbatha who was said to be the show’s executive producer, along with Oscar-nominated director Angus Gibson, Nhlanhla Mtaka, and Desireé Markgraaff, Professor Hlonipha Mokoena, and more.
