‘Harry & Meghan’: Duke opens up about leaving royal family

Prince Harry opened up about leaving the royal family and his concerns for the safety of his family in the first episode of the docuseries.

The first episode of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s docuseries – Harry & Meghan has just released today (Thursday 8 December) and the Duke of Sussex revealed that he feared the safety of his family.

PRINCE HARRY FEARS SAFETY OF HIS FAMILY 

The first episode of Harry & Meghan opened with a message that read that all the interviews for the documentary were concluded by August 2022. This was just days before the death of Prince Harry’s grandmother Queen Elizabeth II on 8 September. 

The release of the docuseries is exactly three months following the death of the Queen. The message also revealed that members of the royal family have declined to comment on the documentary. In the opening scene, airport shots and Harry filming himself at Heathrow airport back in March 2020 is seen.

“We’ve just finished two weeks, out final push, our list stint of royal engagements,” he said.

“It’s really hard to look back on it now and go what on earth happened?” he continued.

“I am genuinely concerned for the safety of my family,” he explained.

There seems to be more information to follow in the episodes to come. The pair have two children together – Archie (3) and Lilibet (1).

MEGHAN ON TELLING THEIR OWN STORY

When asked why she’s chosen to make the docuseries, Meghan revealed that she has been misrepresented for so long. The Duchess of Sussex went on to say that books have been written about their story from people she does not even know. 

She went on to say that it makes more sense to tell it herself. The pair also revealed more about their first date, including that Harry was late. They also shared private text messages and screenshots of Facetime calls. Take a look…
