Netflix announced that South Africa’s How to Ruin Christmas will be returning for a third season titled The Baby Shower via a press release on 15 June.
‘HOW TO RUIN CHRISTMAS’: ‘THE BABY SHOWER’
South Africa’s fan-favourite festive series How To Ruin Christmas returns, with the third season titled The Baby Shower. After two chaotic, hilarious and drama-filled Christmases, the Sellos and Twalas reunite to celebrate the imminent arrival of Beauty (Thando Thabethe) and Sbu’s (Sandile Mahlangu) bundle of joy.
The stage is set for a showdown between the two families with a healthy number of mishaps, saucy secrets and yes, Succulent too!
Joining the formidable cast is Denise Zimba who plays Zama – a vivacious and determined slay queen who brings more chaos to an already imploding baby shower. Christmas will be ruined again!
The first two instalments of How To Ruin Christmas: The Wedding, and How To Ruin Christmas: The Funeral were released to critical acclaim in 2020 and 2021 respectively and are streaming exclusively on Netflix.
How To Ruin Christmas: The Baby Shower is set to be released later this year. The series is currently in production. From the teaser it looks as if one of the lead character’s Tumi will not be retuning for season three while Rich Mnisi and Slik Talk are name dropped. Take a look…

Last season, director Rethabile Ramaphakela was so excited about showcasing KwaZulu-Natal.
“We went to Inanda. That excites me more… I don’t think Inanda has been shown in that way. The house you wouldn’t have thought of that house in the area and even to see the dam. When we went location scouting, I was like this is so beautiful. We shot at the Beverly Hills hotel as well, which is quite exciting and iconic for South Africa,” she said.
