We can all collectively breathe a sigh of relief…our favourite social media platforms; WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook have returned to normal.

The platforms experienced a six-hour-long global blackout on Monday that affected millions of users around the world.

And users around the world are now expressing their elation – and frustration through hilarious memes.

USERS POKE FUN AFTER SOCIAL MEDIA BLACKOUT

WHATSAPP USERS ANNOYED

Some users are not happy that despite things running smoothly again, they still didn’t receive a single message from loved ones during the lengthy downtime.

“Me coming back to zero texts on WhatsApp after it starts working,” read one hilarious meme.

INSTAGRAM AND FACEBOOK USERS ELATED

Instagram and Facebook users were overjoyed that their favourite channels were back in action, and that they didn’t have to rely on Twitter to communicate with each other…

No-one was more happier than Instagram influencers though, who make a living off the image and video sharing platform…

TWITTER USERS LONELY

But the funniest memes came from Twitter users who were sad – and pretty peeved – to see their “friends” leave.

“So Facebook and Instagram users, you guys are going back and leaving us here alone?” one tweep wrote alongside a picture of NBA player James Harden crying.
