After hitting television screens at the beginning of September, the celebrity edition of MacG’s Podcast and Chill is taking a production break. Excitement filled the air when it was announced that the popular podcast was moving from YouTube to Channel O and unfortunately for fans there is no clear indication of when it will be back.

Channel O welcomed Podcast and Chill to its line-up of shows and it kicked off with a bang. MacG sat down with Sama award-winning singer Zahara and author and fitness guru Kabelo Mabelane.

M-Net’s director of local entertainment channels Nomsa Philiso said the podcast was relevant and relatable and commended MacG’s chemistry with his guests.

Sadly for fans, the celebrity edition of Podcast and Chill is going on production break with no word from Channel O about when it will be back.

“Celebrity Edition is on a production break… BRB, watch out for an update soon!”

Since he started his YouTube channel, MacG has achieved over 33 million views and he has a few other podcasts in his network including The Queer Way of Life with Bujy. Hosted by Bujy Bikwa, the podcast focuses on issues around the LGBTQI+ community but it has had its fair share of backlash

He explained in an interview with The Media Online that after receiving negative comments for his transphobic and homophobic remarks on Podcast and Chill he saw the need for an LGBQTI+ podcast.

“Everything that was said on the podcast came from a place of ignorance. That’s how the LGBTQI+ show, The Queer of Life with Bujy, came about, so people could learn more about their community and prevent what happened with us.”

MacG scored himself a nomination as podcaster of the year at the VN Global Media and Entertainment Awards. The awards organisers noted the 33-year-old as a game-changer in the South African podcast industry.

Other notable nominees in the category include businesswoman and mother-of-two Mpoomy Ledwaba and American business coach and global consultant Brittany Garth-Freeman.
