Hollywood actor and stand-up comedian Kevin Hart has announced that he’s bringing his Reality Check stand-up tour to the SunBet Arena, in Pretoria, on 17 February 2023.

The Emmy and Grammy nominated comedian’s last visit to South Africa was in 2016 with his What Now? show when he earned himself the nickname of “Mpho”.

Kevin Hart: Back in SA after ‘years on years on’

The actor announced on Instagram on Monday 28 November that tickets go on sale on Friday 2 December.

“South Africa, it has been too long. Your boy is coming your way on the 17th of February. It’s going down… Years on years on years it’s been but I cannot wait to get to you. Me in your world, let’s do what we do best. Let’s have a good time together,” the 43-year-old said in a video he shared on Instagram.

Trevor Noah: Another global comedy heavyweight for 2023

Seems like 2023 is going to be a blockbuster year of international acts for South African stand-up comedy fans. Hart isn’t the only global comedy heavyweight who will be visiting the shores of Mzansi.

South African-born comedian Trevor Noah will also be coming home with his Trevor Noah Live in South Africa tour next year. The 38-year-old’s 12-show tour will see him visiting Durban, Cape Town, and Pretoria from 31 August to 15 September.

Kevin Hart ‘Reality Check’: Ticket info

Tickets go on sale on Friday 2 December from 09:00 and will be available on Ticketmaster. There is a ticket limit of eight tickets per person and per credit card.

South African fans were over the moon to hear about the Jumanji: Next Level star’s return.

“Mpho Hart is coming back home,” one Instagram user commented.

Another user added: “FINALLY!!!! I’m not missing this one starting to save right now for a ticket!”

Of course, the “one night only” and just in Pretoria part of the news did not sit well with all his fans.
