Gqom artist Babes Wodumo shared the first-look trailer of her and her label boss husband Mampintsha’s new reality show, titled Uthando Lodumo, via Instagram on 14 June.

The controversial couple has also attempted to go the reality TV show route before — with Jub Jub and Moja Love’s help –but that failed dismally.

The much-anticipated reality series, which was announced last year, is set to begin streaming on Showmax on 30 June and will give an exclusive insight into the couples highly publicised relationship.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM ‘UTHANDO LODUMO’

Babes Wodumo, real name Bongekile Simelane, and Mandla Maphumulo, known as Mampintsha, have been rather lowkey on social media since their reality show deal was signed. This is probably due to the fact that they want the content on their show to be exclusive.

The trailer shows Babes and Mampintsha taking their relationship to the next level. Babes met Mampintsha when she was just 17 years old when she was –in her own words — just a “video vixen”.

I the trailer Mampintsha’s family is seen going to Babes’ family to ask for her hand in marriage as a nervous Babes thinks about her father’s reaction as he is a pastor.

“The first time my dad saw me perform, he kept quiet and looked at me and asked what is happening? Because my dad is a pastor, I was always expected to do the right thing. I wasn’t allowed to smoke, drink or do any of that stuff. I was tired because I wanted to live my own life,” said Babes on Podcast and Chill with Mac G.

Although the letter was initially rejected, Mampintsha eventually got the approval.

BABES AND MAMPINTSHA: LOVE, MARRIAGE AND BABIES

Viewers will be given an exclusive look at lobola negotiations and more. The couple got engaged in October last year and married in April this year.

Their traditional wedding was filmed for the Showmax Original and will be followed by a white wedding later this year.

The trailer also shows the couple being counselled by elders, including a pastor about their relationship with each other and their parents.

Babes also confirms that she is pregnant. This follows Mampintsha’s mother previously accusing the qqom queen of lying about her pregnancy via a video that went viral.
