British author and comedian Richard Osman saved our 2020 lockdown with the release of his bestselling The Thursday Murder Club.

The comedy-mystery features Joyce, Elizabeth, Ron and Ibrahim: Four unlikely friends who are all retired, all above 70, and all share a love for solving a good mystery.

Osman’s Thursday Murder Club back in session

This group of unforgettable characters crept into our hearts and gave the world a much-needed, warm feeling of comfort during the trying times of 2020.

Luckily, the Thursday Murder Club is back in session with a new mystery, titled The Man Who Died Twice in Osman’s second instalment of the series. The novel boasts all the elements of the previous book, plus a few new characters and surprises.

OSMAN A MASTER OF COMEDIC WRITING

As an avid reader of mystery novels, I know a good mystery story when I read one, and The Man Who Died Twice is a perfect example of a good ol’ whodunit that will keep you up late into the night.

However, this book is more than just a good mystery.

Osman has that rare ability to create characters who seem so real that the reader feels as though they know the characters between the pages. The characters are truly unique and there aren’t any equivalents in the book world today. They stay with you long after you have turned the last page.

The Man Who Died Twice also features that dry, British humour that Osman is famous for and it makes this book a joy to read. You will be laughing out loud at this motley crew of septuagenarians.

‘THE MAN WHO DIED TWICE’ IS A PERFECT CHRISTMAS GIFT

If you are still looking for a Christmas gift for the bookworm in your life, look no further than The Man Who Died Twice. You do not have to have read the first book to understand or appreciate the second one and this makes this book an ideal gift.

Even if you are not shopping for an avid reader, this book is wonderful enough to be enjoyed by anyone, young and old.

PRAISE FOR ‘THE MAN WHO DIED TWICE’

“This slick sequel will leave you buzzing with ‘the gentle hum of contentment’.”

The Times

“Smart, compassionate, warm, moving and so VERY funny.”

Marian Keyes

‘Full of humour and heart, Osman delivers another must-read. I loved it’

Harlan Coben

‘I absolutely loved it. He’d not only done it again, but he’s done it even better’

Phillipa Perry

‘THE MAN WHO DIED TWICE’: SYNOPSIS

It’s the following Thursday.

Elizabeth has received a letter from an old colleague, a man with whom she has a long history. He’s made a big mistake, and he needs her help. His story involves stolen diamonds, a violent mobster, and a very real threat to his life.

As bodies start piling up, Elizabeth enlists Joyce, Ibrahim and Ron in the hunt for a ruthless murderer. And if they find the diamonds too? Well, wouldn’t that be a bonus?

But this time they are up against an enemy who wouldn’t bat an eyelid at knocking off four septuagenarians. Can The Thursday Murder Club find the killer (and the diamonds) before the killer finds them?
