American singer Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O’Connell, popularly known as Billie Eilish offers readers an intimate window into her life through hundreds of pictures that capture her authentic self from her childhood to her journey of fame, in her new book titled Billie Eilish.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR AND SINGER BILLIE EILISH

The 19-year-old singer and songwriter is the youngest person and first female artist to win the four top Grammy categories. She has released an Extended Play (EP), a live album and a studio album with another on the way.

Eilish is slowly opening up herself to the public, starting with her body like you’ve never-seen-it-before on the cover of British Vogue in May and now she’s opening up her life in her self titled photo book that gives readers a close and personal look at her life.

BILLIE EILISH BRINGS OUT THE FAMILY ALBUM

For her photobook, Billie Eilish pulled out the old family albums and handpicked the pictures she wanted to share in chronological order to tell the story of her life.

Eilish affectionately shows off her close-knit family in the book  with the first picture being her mom, when she was expecting her, alongside her older brother Finneas Baird O’Connell, who has written and produced some of her music. Her dad also makes numerous appearances, one as a crew member when she was on tour.

Eilish details her childhood with a series of pictures as she grows from toddler to teenager.

“I think it’s really interesting to look back on myself when I was a little kid, and see the similarities between me as a toddler and me now,” wrote Billie Eilish.

“My mom has always said that a three-year-old’s interests and personality traits will show up in that kid later in life. That was definitely true for me,” she added.

BILLIE EILISH’S JOURNEY OF FAME

Through the images, Billie takes readers on her journey of fame from the happy moments that include a picture of herself recording her debut single Ocean Eyes at thirteen and signing her record deal at fourteen. She also dived straight into her less happy days.

Through the 335 page book, Eilish seems to be neutral about fame, as much as she was excited in some high moments, she also got into the more dull moments like her depression and the injuries she sustained while on tour.

Eilish, who has spoken out about her depression previously, included pictures of herself in the ‘worst” mental state.

“I probably was in the worst mental state that I’ve ever been in for this tour. It was also a really difficult tour. Everytime I see pictures from this period of time, my chest clenches remembering the way it felt,” wrote Eilish.

From white to turquoise to her iconic emerald green and black, Eilish is seen trying many different hair colours that seem to symbolise chapters of change in her life. If you’re a Billie Eilish fan then this glossy photobook is a must-have.

Billie Eilish is published by Wren and Rook and is available at Exclusive Books.
