HAVE YOU EVER LOOKED

Have you ever looked yourself in the face?

Walking on by as all you saw was disgrace.

Ever see your soul in another and wonder?

Could it be: Are we related, a mother or perhaps a brother?

Violently we thrash on seeing how they truly believe,

Entirely by face-value all must relieve.

Far fetched and alien to humane,

Strings tugged via another golden mane.

When it does rain in my moment of joy I should know,

Blessed-qualified I simply left, let go.

Gone are the days for longing as I see fit,

Solitude is a choice blessed too lonely in sinking a pit.

Then you sit back relax and spit,

Look in a mirror to your face, truly Admit.

Confessions fly around like buzzing bees,

Across the floor numb on all fours burning carpeted knees.

Eradicate all the disease,

Start with a simple: “Oh, my God, please . . .”
