Did anyone see a bromance like this developing? Coldplay frontman and international superstar Chris Martin has got mad love for Cassper Nyovest.
The Englishman has been chilling with South Africa’s own hip-hop giant, and it turns out the pair have mutual respect for each other’s work.
Why are Cassper Nyovest and Chris Martin hanging out?
The duo will be seeing a lot more of each other, after both being announced on the Global Citizen Festival line-up this Monday. Our guy will be performing live on the same bill as Martin, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Usher and Ed Sheeran on Sunday 2 December.
They are gathering for the ultimate tribute to Nelson Mandela, as part of the celebrations for his centenary year – 2018 marks the 100th year since Madiba’s birth and the fifth since his death.
Shortly after Global Citizen announced their star-studded event, Nyovest took to Twitter to share some of the coolest snaps on social media.

In fact, Mzansi’s own global powerhouse revealed that Martin loved “Malome” – one of Nyovest’s most critically-acclaimed songs and that there might be a chance the two could perform together one day.

It caps a massive 12 months for Cassper Nyovest, who has been making all the right moves in the industry. He managed to #FillUpTheFNBStadium last December during a record-breaking concert in Johannesburg.
Not only has he been listed on Forbes’ prestigious “Best Under 30 in Africa” list, but he’s even had hip-hop royalty round his crib recently. Sorry Chris, you’re not the only big name wanting a slice of Nyovest right now.
Back in February, Swizz Beatz himself was partying with our Cassper and the pair looked intent on producing something special together. Perhaps it won’t be too long before our homegrown hero is giving out autographs to these A-listers?
